Piece of the Berlin Wall
About 600 East Berliners were shot for attempting to climb over the wall and couldn’t go within 10 yards of it. West Berliners could go right up to it, often to graffiti on it, as seen here. Once the border was opened on November 9, 1989, civilians tore down the wall with pickaxes, creating pieces such as these.
Air and Land Vehicle Identification Cards
Playing cards with sketches of Soviet air and land vehicles were often handed out to American soldiers during the Cold War to help identify enemy vehicles and aircraft.
Geiger Counter

East German Flag
After World War II, the German capital of Berlin was divided between the Soviet Union and four capitalist countries. In 1961, the Soviet Union built an enormous wall, almost overnight, to keep people from leaving Soviet occupied Berlin and escaping to the capitalist nations.
