Join Our Team as an Intern or Volunteer

Interns and volunteers play a pivotal role in the success of the Hutchings Museum’s mission. Volunteers must be 14+. Mature children may be allowed to volunteer with a parent to clean glass cases or other simple and parentally supervised roles.

Save the Monarchs

Help save the dying population of monarch butterflies by volunteering to help plant and count milkweed and raise monarchs in the spring. 


Kestrel Project

Volunteers can help document and record activity taking places in and around the museum’s kestrel boxes placed around Utah Lake and the Jordon River.


Utah Lake Field Station

Wildlife survey being conducted to assess the plants and animals currently living here to plan for

  • Eradication of invasive species

  • Identification of all potential threats and viable solutions in partnership with state agencies


Days for Girls

Volunteers can help the Hutchings Museum Institute reach our goal of creating 600 feminine hygiene kits for Madagascar.
