The population of American Kestrels has dropped about 50 percent in the last 50 years! This is our second time over the past three years having our volunteers work together to help preserve these small, colorful falcons.

When we worked on this project before, kestrels were safely banded for tracking and conservation. Earlier this week, we made kestrel nesting boxes! These homes will help the Museum, HawkWatch and Utah Lake Commission conserve and help keep tabs on these feisty birds! These boxes have been placed along Jordan River and Utah Lake!
